Glazing project : Cégep André-Laurendeau

Project description

Cégep André-Laurendeau, located in Montreal’s LaSalle neighborhood, is a public francophone education institution that offers pre-university and technical programs.

Groupe Brosseau Vitrerie was contracted in 2016 to renovate the skylight on the roof of the Cégep’s sports complex. This new 211-square-foot skylight was made to measure in our Blainville factory and its bluish glazing provides protection from ultraviolet (UV) rays and allows natural light to penetrate the indoor gym spaces.

The materials were carefully chosen in order to make sure that the optimal thermal separation of the construction meets the most stringent energy efficiency standards for modern buildings. The components add a robustness and stability to the skylight structure while ensuring that it can resist extreme weather conditions and significant snow build-up.

The installation methods chosen by our experts comply with the new regulatory standards and requirements governing window systems established by the National Building Code of Canada (NBC).
