Project description
The Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac community centre on Chemin d’Oka in Sainte-Marthe-sur-le-Lac boasts 2,630 square metres on two levels. The total cost of this building construction is estimated at $7.6 million.
This project was started in 2017 and involved extending the community centre on the ground floor and building a new library on the first floor. The new library is over 13,000 square feet and has floor to ceiling windows on all sides which make it a friendly space that is conducive to calm and relaxation. The centre’s installations were designed to be accessible to persons with reduced mobility.
The building also contains interior glass ramps and building guards and a system of cutting-edge curtain walls that are over 220 feet in total. Natural light has been used to its full potential and the light plays a key role in the building envelope’s energy efficiency.
Groupe Brosseau Vitrerie also designed a series of made-to-measure hardware products that respect the security standards of institutional establishments and an exterior glass ramp over 140 feet long with a robust aluminum saddle that creates a sense of continuity between the interior and the exterior as well as serving as an efficient windbreaker.
